All in one … waves, flatwater, freestyle conditions
The Planet Surfpool
Boa Vista is really an all-round destination, cause it
has perfect flat water, and an easy start into the two
wavespots. On top an island with perfect conditions to
relax, endless sandy beaches and kind fishermen whose
lobster is incredible. Since 2008 you can fly directly
from Europe to Boavista for example with TUIFly from
Germany (Frankfurt, Hannover, Düsseldorf, Munich,
Köln-Bonn, Stuttgart). The flat water is colored
turquoise and the northeast passat is blowing especially
in the winter and springtime. The bay has three
different spots, which are reachable quickly and
directly from the Planet Surfpool Station. The first
spot (Stino/Freeride Area) offers perfect flat-water
conditions and a huge standing area. In Funana, the
second one, there are some waves depending to the swell
reaching 2-4 meters high for riding and jumping. The
third spot (Turtle Bay) offers two different conditions
depending to the swell: with swell you will find an
endless wave of about 2 meters high along the whole bay
and without a flat speed area parallel to the shore.

Location
The Planet Surfpool Center is located
in the bay south of Sal Rei, in front of Sal Rei island
(about 1,5 Km). The Windsurf Center is part of the
Tortuga Beach Club directly on the beach and 30 m from
the sea. The station is renewed and you will find also
places for sun beds in the shade. Boogie boards and
Surfboards are available. The surf center organizes
lessons and different clinics for windsurfing and
kitesurfing. The Hotel Estoril as well as the apartments
are situated around 300 mt. from the school and by short
walk over finest dune sand you reach the beach club
Spot Guide Boavista
The wind blows side offshore from the
right without shore break as the beach in front of the
center is protected by the island of Sal Rei. Sometimes
the north east Passat might be a little gusty here.
The bay of Sal Rei offers many different kinds of
possibilities further out: inside the bay flat water
with small chop and really save feeling for perfect
freeride conditions or freestyle. In good swell at the
right side of the school you will find a small nice wave
to start practicing wave riding. In the south of the
center there is another perfect freeride area called
Turtle Bay. In north west swell a clean wave can reach
up to 3 meters. Even in rush hours you mostly share this
bay only with turtles.
Between the port and Sal Rei Island depending on the
swell direction you will have waves between 2 and 4
meters.
