Have you always dreamed of casually riding the waves?
Then our beginner surf course on Boavista is the right place for you. You’ll learn how to surf on our “house reef” in a very short time and with lots of fun, or improve your existing skills with helpful tips and the perfect waves!
With our surf pros, you will learn all you need to know about waves, surfing techniques, and equipment during the course and will be surfing your first waves independently after just a short time. “Hang loose!”

Information and process

  • Meeting point: At 8:30 am, half an hour before the course starts at 9 am, depending on swell conditions there may be changes to the course time.

  • You don’t need your own equipment for the surf course. Just bring your swimsuit, sun protection and something to drink. We will provide you with the following equipment during the course:

    • Surfboard
    • Wetsuit
    • Shoes

    A course unit comprises a total of 2 hours with 2 to a maximum of 8 students. 

  • You don’t need any special requirements or knowledge to learn to surf. However, you must be able to swim safely.

  • As a complete surf beginner, we recommend that you attend the surf course for at least 2 days so that you can enjoy your first successes in surfing and understand the technique required with our surf pros.

  • What do I do when I am ill?

    If you fall ill during the course and are unable to attend, we will also try to postpone the course or alternatively issue a partial voucher that is valid for other services at our center.

  • What do I do when there are no waves?

    If there are no waves during the course, we will try to postpone the course or alternatively issue you with a voucher that is valid for other services at our center.

  • Are there also surf trips to other wave spots on Boavista?

    If you are familiar with the reef at our center (1-2 meter high waves), you can also book private lessons and we will take you to the bigger wave “Liowa” in the harbor basin.
