Process and information

  • Meeting point: 15 minutes before the start of the course, 7.15 am or 12.45 pm, depending on your chosen course time, on the first day of the course we recommend the start time at 1 pm.

On the 1st day: we explain in the theory unit on land (duration approx. 15 – 30 min.) the material and basic concepts such as safety system, kite control, wind window, etc.. Immediately afterward you practise kite control and kite steering from the boat. On the 2nd day: we improve the kite’s feeling and fly it to different zones in the wind window. We learn where the kite has more or less power. We practise controlled pulling with the kite through the water, also known as body drag. The aim is for the kite to “drag” you in the desired direction. Day 3: The goal on this day is to get the board on your feet with the foot straps, start for the first time (water start) and ride the first few metres. It is important that you can ride safely and steadily in both directions and steer the kite back to the 12 o’clock position so that you can stop and ride back. You probably won’t be able to “hold height” at first, but that’s no problem at all with our boat training, you’ll always be guided by our instructor in the boat and can take short breaks on the boat. At the end of each course unit, we will have a short briefing and possibly some theory.

Additional course days on site can be booked at the end of the 3-day course if places are available. If there is no wind, we try to postpone the course, so we recommend starting the course on the first day of your holiday in order to have the necessary time buffer. If there is an unexpected calm day, we will issue a voucher as a gesture of goodwill, depending on how many days have been cancelled, which is valid for one year and can be redeemed at all destinations.

  • You don’t need your own equipment for the kite course. Just bring your swimsuit and sun protection. We will provide you with the following equipment during the course:
