Information and process

  • Meeting point: 15 minutes before the start of the course at 8:30 am or 1:00 pm depending on the agreed course start time

    • On the 1st day in a theory part on land (approximate duration 15 – 30 minutes), we explain the material, basic concepts such as luffing and bearing away, tacking and sailing position, etc., and the movement sequences. Afterward, you will go on the water for the first time with the aim of being able to ride immediately on day 1 under supervision.
    • On the 2nd day, we will pay attention to your riding position and practise going upwind, also known as a crossing. The aim of this day is for you to get back to your starting point independently.
    • The 3rd day is the maneuvering day on which the tack and jibe are learned.
    • On the 4th day practise what you have learned with targeted improvements, depending on your personal riding ability.
  • You don’t need your own equipment for the windsurfing course. Just bring your swimsuit and sun protection. We will provide you with the following equipment during the course:

    • Windsurf board
    • Windsurf sail
    • Wetsuit
    • Life jacket
    • Shoes according to preference

The course unit lasts a maximum of 3 hours per unit with a maximum of 8 students. If there are fewer, the duration is reduced according to the number of participants.

  • You don’t need any special requirements or knowledge to learn windsurfing. You just need to be able to swim safely.

  • We recommend that you book a 4-day course, which is the average time you need to get a good feel for this sport and have fun. If you need more course days, you can book them one day at a time at a reduced price. If you just want to get a taste of whether you like windsurfing in general, you can also book just one trial day. We also recommend that you take the VDWS windsurfing license at the same time, as you will learn a little more about the rules of water sports and can confirm your basic knowledge at any time if you want to rent windsurfing equipment from another school, for example. It is also an advantage from an insurance point of view if you have a “driver’s license”.

Further information and FAQ

We will be happy to answer any further questions you may have about the course here.

  • Can I extend the course?

You are welcome to extend the course by the day at the end, provided there are still places available.

  • What do I do when there is no wind?

If there is no wind, we try to postpone the course, so we recommend starting the course on the first day of your vacation in order to have the necessary buffer. If there is an unexpected lull, we will issue a voucher, valid for one year and redeemable at all destinations, depending on how many days have been canceled as a gesture of goodwill.

  • What do I do when I am ill?

If you fall ill during the course and are unable to attend, we will also try to postpone the course or alternatively issue a partial voucher valid for all destinations as a gesture of goodwill.
