Windsurfing group course for beginners
Learn to windsurf independently in just a few days
On our windsurfing course for beginners, you will ride your first meters on the very first day. We train you according to VDWS standards and offer you the opportunity to obtain your VDWS windsurfing license at the end of your course. Choose the number of course days yourself, we recommend a 4-day course if you want to learn windsurfing effectively. Our courses start daily and take place in small groups.
Course program & info
Meeting point: 30 minutes before the start of the course, at 9:30 am or 1:30 pm depending on the agreed course start time
- On the 1st day in a theory session on land (approximately 15 – 30 minutes), we explain the equipment, basic concepts such as luffing and bearing away, tacking and sailing position, etc., and the movement sequences. Afterward, you will go out on the water for the first time with the aim of being able to ride immediately on the first day under supervision.
- On the 2nd day, we will pay attention to your riding position and practise going upwind, also known as crossing. The aim of this day is for you to get back to your starting point independently.
- The 3rd day is the maneuvering day on which the tack and jibe are learned.
- On the 4th day practise what you have learned with targeted improvements, depending on your personal riding ability.
You don’t need your own equipment for the windsurfing course. Just bring your swimsuit and sun protection. We will provide you with the following equipment during the course:
- Windsurf board
- Windsurf sail
- Wetsuit
- Life jacket/ life vest
- Shoes according to preference
The course unit lasts a maximum of 3 hours per unit with a maximum of 8 students. If there are fewer, the duration is reduced according to the number of participants.
You don’t need any special requirements or knowledge to learn windsurfing.
You just need to be able to swim safely.
We recommend that you book a 4-day course, which is the average time you need to get a good feel for this sport and have fun. If you need more course days, you can book them one day at a time at a reduced price. If you just want to get a taste of windsurfing, you can of course book just one trial day.
We also recommend that you take the VDWS windsurfing license at the same time, as you will learn more about the rules of water sports and can confirm your basic knowledge at any time if you want to rent windsurfing equipment from another school, for example. It is also an advantage from an insurance point of view if you have a “driver’s license”.
