Windsurfing on Boavista, Cape Verde
Our diverse and relaxed windsurfing flat water spot for every level
select & bookWelcome to Planet Allsports Surf and Kite School on Boavista, Cape Verde – the ultimate flat water paradise for windsurfers and those who want to become one! Here on this stunning island, blessed by unspoiled nature and endless winds, an unforgettable windsurfing experience awaits you.
Boavista is a place suitable for all windsurfing levels. We know that choosing the right spot is crucial, and that’s why we’re here to show you why Boavista is the perfect choice. Admittedly, close to shore the wind can sometimes be a little gusty due to the urban coverage of Sal Rei. As soon as you head further downwind, you will experience a constant wind that offers perfect conditions for long, enjoyable shots.
What makes Boavista truly unique are the opportunities to approach waves. Right on our doorstep you’ll find a small reef that offers moderate waves. But don’t worry, there’s only a shore break there. For those looking for more adventure, there’s the Liowa wave in the harbor basin, which can get up to head-high – perfect for experienced surfers looking for the ultimate thrill.
Our VDWS-licensed instructors are ready to teach you how to windsurf, starting either from the beach or with waterstart. We speak several languages, including German, to ensure that you feel comfortable with us and enjoy the best possible teaching experience.
We also provide you with the latest equipment for both our courses and windsurf rental. Our family atmosphere and cosy chill-out corner invite you to relax, and the Tortuga Beach Bar right next to our school provides culinary delights and refreshments after an exciting day on the water.
Come and join us on Boavista and learn to windsurf in one of the best spots in the world. Here you will find the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation – experience the wind and the waves like never before. We look forward to welcoming you to our Planet Allsports surf and kite school!

Information about travel, accommodation etc.
“Boavischta”, as the locals pronounce it, is definitely a vacation highlight. It is one of the 15 Cape Verde islands and is located around 500-600 kilometers off the West African coast at the height of Dakar, a good 1000 kilometers south of the Canary Islands. Boavista is one of the most breathtaking spots in the world. The vastness, the water colors, the Cape Verdean “no stress” flair and the unique nature make the island so desirable.
As the first kite, windsurf, stand-up paddle and surf school on Boavista, we set up shop here over 17 years ago, 5-10 minutes from the town center. We deliberately chose the Tortuga Beach Club with Ruth and Leo. They have been running the restaurant for many years and offer excellent Italian cuisine and the best fish dishes.
